Tandem Operating Heavy Load Transporters

The computer controlled steering and operational control that is inherent in all Wheelift transporters, render them ideally suited for multiple transporter tandem operations.  As illustrated above with these two 57 ton capacity transporters, two to four transporters will be individually driven under stand supported frames that provide a “tunnel” of approximately 20” of vertical clear access space.  The exceptionally low overall flat surface deck heights of these transporters allow them to enter and exit from any direction.  The transporters are driven under the load and can maneuver to whatever orientation is best suited for the particular frame assembly.  Parallel and perpendicular alignment is critical and is taken from visual alignment with the frame member or scribed lines on the edges of the load frame. Or, specific stop brackets may be supplied that rest against frame members.  Once the parallel alignments are established, a laser distance finder measures the separation of the transporters for computation of the steering geometry across whatever numbers of axles are being used for a particular move.
