Heavy Load Transporters Operating In Tandem

This is an illustration of an existing application where three identical transporters operate in tandem.  These 110,000 lb capacity transporters are each driven under a customer’s large frames that need to be moved to the next assembly station.  The perpendicular relationship is established by visually aligning the edge lines of the transporters to parallel edge lines of the load’s frame. When the transporters are determined to be properly aligned for parallel and perpendicular, a built-in laser measurement device in each transporter establishes the exact distance between each transporter and that information is automatically sent to the SynchroSteer computer. The steering algorithms are adjusted and the transporters will now operate as one, with steering at speeds controlled from a single wireless operator controller.

The transporters can operate singularly, or in combinations of two, three, or four, depending on the length and weight of the load to be carried.
