This 160-ton capacity IP-SPMT (In-Plant Self-Propelled Modular Transporter) brings an entirely new manufacturing capability to the power generation industry.  This new generation heavy capacity self-loading transporters offer deck heights as low as 18 inches. With their inherent fluid equalizing suspension, the transporters lower and drive under specially designed pallets that support a variety of electrical transformer sizes. When the transporters are in place, they lift and carry the transformers through out the plant or to outside test, storage, or load out areas.  Until now, only in-floor rail systems, air bearing pallets, or overhead cranes have been the available options to transformer manufacturers.  Wheelift transporters allow plants to operate over any type of floor, freely cross in-floor rails, while still operating in low ceiling areas.  This new heavy moving solution offers flexibility and performance increases to transformer manufacturers that have never before been available.  Manufacturers can now build much larger transformer models in their existing facilities without costly modification to their plants.
